A new baby or child brings joy, responsibility, and new family roles. Rev. Dee Richardson can help your new child begin life's journey with a beautiful, handcrafted ceremony to honor and celebrate the birth or adoption. The blessing ceremony will be bathed in the love you share for your child.
Celebrant and officiant Rev. Dee always welcomes suggestions from parents, family, and friends for making the ceremony personal, unique, participatory, and meaningful.
A typical ceremony might include an opening statement, parents promising to care for the new child, honoring a sibling and grandparents, remembering those who have passed, candle lighting, a water ceremony, declaring the child's name and its meaning, and a closing prayer or blessing. For a baby naming or baptism, parents will receive a Certificate of Name or Certificate of Baptism.
Christening / Baptism
Christening and baptism are rituals that offer a warm “Welcome to the world” for your child. They may include prayers for protection, poems, readings, music, and water (or not). Traditional or non-traditional ceremonies can be adapted in the best way for you and your families to share the joy and hope for this new life you have been entrusted with!

In ancient times baby naming was a big ritual, celebrated by the entire family! Today we simply would like to bless the name of the new person, to bring power and purpose into his/her life.
